Campus Updates: January 15 – 21

Bozman Intermediate
Happy New Year to our Bozman Community!

We will host a Math Night on Thursday, January 19 from 5:30-7 p.m. A plethora of Math activities planned! Join us for fun for the entire family!


Broadway Elementary
At Broadway Elementary School, the following students received a Principal High Five: Piper Holdt, Megan Richardson, Jack Thompson, Avery Withrow and Katelyn McAlpin.



Buckalew Elementary
Congratulations to the Keys for Success winners for the week of December 12. Each week students have the opportunity to be nominated as a “Student of the Week” when they demonstrate any of the 7 keys to Success we teach at our school. Students nominated receive a special certificate to take home. They are then entered into a weekly drawing. The winners are on the announcements and are presented a “Principal’s Medallion”. One student per grade level is drawn weekly. The student winners are: Hunter Anderson, kindergarten, Adam Ackley, first grade, Ben Salinger, second grade, Haylee Passmore, third grade and Nicolas Rady, fourth grade.


Bush Elementary
Each month a student from each class, who exhibits the character trait of the month, is selected to receive the Paws for Pride Award. These students are each presented with a medal at a recognition ceremony attended by their parents. The parents, staff and student body also wear the color associated with the character trait, on this very special day. Monday, January 16 is a holiday. School will be closed on this day.


On Thursday, January 19, the third and fourth grade choir will begin to meet again. Also on this date, our P.E. teacher has planned a skate night at Sk8 Town. Admission is $7 per person.



Collins Intermediate
Thank you to all of our wonderful Junior Achievement volunteers who came and volunteered in our fifth grade classrooms.


Keep reading those Bluebonnet books as voting will be starting in the library on January 23.



Creighton Elementary
Monday, January 16 is a school holiday in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.


In the state of Texas, January is set aside as the month in which to recognize the efforts of our school boards. In Conroe Independent School District we are so fortunate to have a group of dedicated people who are committed to our children and seek to do the very best for each and every child. On Tuesday, January 17, our district will be honoring our wonderful board members at 6 p.m. in the CISD Board Room. The board members will be recognized and given tokens of appreciation from each school. Come join us in saying thank you to our school board!



Giesinger Elementary
The last day to order a Giesinger Yearbook is Tuesday, January 17. Order forms are available in the front office and you can also purchase them on-line from Balfour.


On Wednesday, January 18, at 5:30 p.m. our second grade Lego Group will present their Animal Allies Project to family and friends. Students participating are: Anderson Major, Jake Matthew, Maryn Lindemann, Sabrina Sarmiento, McKenzie Brown, Jake Corley, Joseph-Omar Santucci, Rhys Longmire, Bella Murray, and Annabelle Earthman. The group meets weekly, led by Kindergarten teacher Katie Major.


Wednesday, January 18, at 5:30 p.m. is Pre-K Family Involvement Night. Parents of current preschoolers are invited to attend to hear lessons and methods your students are learning.


Hailey Elementary
Attendance counts for every child every day. Congratulations to Mr. Schenk’s, Mrs. Closson’s, Ms. Middleton’s, and Mrs. Butler’s classes for achieving 10 Attendance Rockets for the whole class being on time and staying at school all day!


Monday, January 16, schools will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.


Please write your child’s name in their jackets, sweaters, and lunch boxes so that lost items can be returned to their owners.


Students can bring aluminum cans, foil, pans, and aluminum computer parts for recycling every Friday morning for our Cash for Cans program, which helps support our school. Please deliver recyclables to the front porch when arriving at school.



Houser Elementary
On January 16, students and teachers will be observing Martin Luther King Holiday.


January 19, we will be having a PTO Spirit Night at Mi Rancho at 19189 I-45 South, Suite A, Shenandoah, TX, 77385. Please join us!



Kaufman Elementary
Friday, January 20 will be the Cool Cougar Lunch for the second nine weeks student recipients. Third grade will be showing off their holiday floats in a parade at 8:15 a.m.



Mitchell Intermediate
There will be no school on Monday, January 16 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
McCullough Junior High will host a Parent Information session for parents of our sixth grade students who will be attending there next year on Tuesday, January 17 beginning at 9:30 a.m.


The Mitchell Community Service Club will have an Orange Leaf Spirit Night on Tuesday, January 17 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. to raise money for the Mitchell Scholarship Fund.


McCullough Junior High will host a Parent Information Night for parents of our sixth grade students who will be attending there next year on Wednesday, January 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. This will be a repeat of yesterday’s morning session.


Honor Band rehearsal will be held at Collins Intermediate on Thursday, January 19 from 5-6:30 p.m.


LC 2 will take a field trip to the Museum of Natural Science to participate in the Mission to Mars program on Friday, January 20. This field trip is sponsored by The Mitchell Parent Teacher Organization.


CISD Intermediate Honor Band Concert will be held on January, 21 at McCullough Junior High, from 4-5 p.m.

Reaves Elementary
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles and other father figures can volunteer in our school.


Please join us January 12 at 7:30 a.m. for Donuts for Dads to learn more about this opportunity at school.


Rice Elementary
Our Pennies for Patients Campaign will kick off on Monday, January 9.


Thursday, January 12 we will have a spirit night at Pot Belly.


Our monthly Rice Way Pep Rallies will be held on Friday, January 27 starting at 2 p.m.


On Friday, January 27, Rice will host a Kendra Scott Fundraiser Night from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.


Our annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign will begin the week of Monday, January 30.


Rice will host a Pre-K Parent Night on Tuesday, January 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.



Travis Intermediate
Monday, January 16 will be a holiday for students and staff.
Travis would like to invite former students, staff, and community members to join us on Wednesday, January 18 for our 90th year celebration. We are looking forward to celebrating the long-standing success and history of our building.
Sixth grade clubs will be on Friday, January 20.
Please join our student council in their collection of canned food items for their annual food drive from January 23-27. All canned items will be donated to our local area food bank.
